Council Launches Bridport Workspace and Business Needs Assessment
Bridport Town Council is committed to supporting local businesses, especially the need to increase the resilience of Bridport’s local economy and drive future sustainability.
In 2022, the council produced the Bridport Investment Plan, responding to consultations with businesses and the community that called for action to support young entrepreneurs and develop the skills needed for sector decarbonisation.
Now, in 2024/25 the council is looking to engage with local businesses to make the most of upcoming opportunities to review two key documents:
• The Bridport Area Neighbourhood Plan,
• The Bridport Investment Plan.
With funding support from Locality, Bridport Town Council is working with Bridport based Stir To Action* – an organisation that works with local government and communities across the UK to promote thriving economies – to undertake an assessment of workspace and business needs over the coming years.
To-day we are launching a questionnaire survey asking local business to respond to workspace needs:
• The questionnaire is available from: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/BLAPWEP
• The survey is open until 10th December 2024.
In the New Year, after the initial analysis of questionnaire results, Stir to Action will host a workshop session for businesses to discuss what actions or policy changes are needed to address future workspace requirements and ensure local businesses can grow and respond to markets as well as the need for decarbonisation.
